Welcome:

Hello there, sports fans, and welcome to our team where we are "Phanatics" about second grade! My name is Mrs. De Marco and I am super excited to be your child's 2nd grade teacher this year! Second grade is an exciting year of learning and growth for the students in so many ways. I hope to provide each and every student in my classroom with opportunities to learn, grow, and begin to become more independent as they prepare to head upstairs next year to third grade!

Education & Experience:
I graduated from Lebanon Valley College in Lebanon, PA, in May 2009 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Elementary and Special Education. I am certified in 3 states - Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware - for both Elementary and Special Education. My certificate in New Jersey is for Elementary K-5 and Teacher of Students with Disabilities. After graduating, I worked as a permanent substitute in Lindenwold School #5 for their pre-k program for the entire 2009-2010 school year, both team-teaching and working as an assistant in three pre-k classrooms. During the 2010-2011 school year, I worked as a long term substitute here in Bellmawr Park for Mrs. Sexton's second grade classroom. During the 2011-2012 school year I began my first official year of teaching in fourth grade, where I spent four years teaching. After completing my Master's Degree in Early Childhood Studies and graduating in July 2015 from Walden University, I moved on to a new adventure in second grade with a wonderful team of teachers! I continually feel very lucky to be a part of the Bellmawr Learning Community!

A Little More About Me:
I grew up in Bellmawr and attended Bellmawr Park and eventually Bell Oaks and Triton High School. I graduated from Triton in June 2005 before attending Lebanon Valley College from 2005-2009. I recently attended Walden University from 2013-2015 for my Master's Degree, as well. This past summer I celebrated a big and exciting milestone in my life when I got married on July 1, 2016. I apologize for any confusion with the name change process, as you may see me listed as Ms. Richards in some places and Mrs. De Marco in others due to my recent wedding. I am a HUGE sports fanatic and Minions fanatic so our entire classroom is based upon a sports/teamwork and minion theme! I also enjoy photography and scrapbooking, reading a good book, traveling, and spending time with family, friends, and our dog, Duke! I have a passionate love of learning and am looking forward to another exciting year in second grade.
